American Soldiers "A Generation of Heroes."

Recently, President and Peace Prize winner Barack Obama praised the American soldiers of the Iraq war as “a generation of heroes” who “have made the United States safer and more respected around the world.”
Maybe Obama is on to something. Since the Iraq war there has not been any attacks on the level of 9/11. Besides the two meager attempts by the underwear and shoe bomber, there has been no tangible reason for security concerns. Apparently the Iraq war HAS made us safer. Maybe killing thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians has made life for Americans much better.
On the morning of 9/11, when the first plane went off course, not one military aircraft was anywhere in the skies to confront it. And after the second plane hit, and it was obvious to all that we were indeed under attack, still no military defense planes were to be found.
Later that morning, a 747 went down in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, however no military aircraft was there to protect America and the plane's occupants.
And later still, another seized 747 hit the most secure building in the world, the Pentagon, and yet no one had the power to stop it?
I am so glad we went to Iraq. It's now evident to me that if our government, who spends more money on defense than any other country in the world, can not defend us at home, then surely it makes sense to take our aircraft and military expertise to another country and attack them under false pretenses (WMD). It makes even more sense when you consider that we lost more soldiers in Iraq than we did Americans on 9/11.
But I assure you, we Americans are much better off. Because of the war in Iraq, our monetary standard of living has decreased, AND we have since implemented the NDAA bill (Illegal indefinite detention of suspected dissidents), created the TSA (Illegal search and seizure of citizens), and gun programs that take away our Constitutional right to bear arms.
I hope you are all breathing with the same confidence and sigh of relief that I am. I feel so fortunate to know I have a defense department that can't defend me at home, yet boast about how safe I am now that we've killed thousands of innocent Iraqi people, who had nothing to do with 9/11.
It feels so good to be an American these days. I perceive a personal and national pride to be enlightened by the prospects of a future with unconstitutional jurisprudence put into effect by those who care nothing for our laws, economic collapse because of costly wars, and a defense department, when at home, is seriously flawed.
And oh yes, how can I forget how much more “RESPECT” we Americans have? We are so respected these days that I would assume we can now do away with the TSA, the NDAA, and allow our citizens to protect themselves with their own hand guns again.
Against this domestic tyranny, what's our chances?

"To kill the queers, or not to kill the queers, that is the question." Either way you get the party of "God is good, God is great." Ron Paul and his case full of veto pens I suppose is preferable to the "who is smarter than a fifth grader crowd," and the centralist "let the queers live, for now, war hawk party," but make no mistake the same people that run the country now will run the country after the next election regardless who is chosen, including Ron Paul. You are correct in all you say David. It was a last second decision for me when I put in Ron Paul 2012. I did so because he is my last hope for someone of integrity and a champion of the Constitution. I realize that even if he got in he'd still have to overcome the corruption that has been in place over the years - an unenviable task for sure. It had more to do with my dreams of Democracy rather than a vote.
hi kenny,
please try to relax, for your own health, and the good of your family.
i, on the other hand, am not taking my own advice.
i am mortified at the state our country is in, and can't for the life of me figure out why it's like that, if not for the love of money, greed, and power.
every nerve in my body, every cell, and every bit of love and compassion was felt to me 26 years ago when i had my baby daughter. what a day that was. filled with promise.
she couldn't make enough money to survive in the good old united states of america, so she joined the army.
not a second goes by that i am not petrified, sad, bewildered, disappointed in our government, and angry as Hell.
this is my child, and at any second, she may be deployed.
she wants an education, and what do you think the army tacks on as a qualification for that education? for her to volunteer for 6 months active duty!!!!!!!!!!
without going on forever, and while i dry my eyes, i will end by saying, "God sees all. May He, in His infinite wisdom, saves us from ourselves."
thank you,
sueI hear ya Sue!
All one has to do to go to college now is to take a few bullets. Piece of cake! :(
